Lance earned degrees in finance and government from the University of Texas at Austin. Before his tenure in Congress, Lance served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives, representing Henderson and Kaufman Counties from 2011 to 2015.uring his time in the state legislature, he was recognized as a rising conservative leader. In Congress, he serves on the House Committee on Financial Services, focusing on housing, insurance, and national security issues.
“I will continue to push federal agencies to run efficiently and effectively, with accountability to American taxpayers.”
After serving three terms in the Texas State legislature and working in the insurance industry for ten years, Lance was sworn into Congress in 2019. Since assuming office, Lance has been a Big enemy of Big Tech so you can be sure more’s coming from him. Watch out Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google.
Lance hates China, like, a lot. So it’s no surprise that he’s leading the charge when it comes to looking out for American athletes at the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic games. He and a handful of other lawmakers wrote to the U.S. Olympic committee requesting that they forbid American athletes from using China’s digital currency payment. Does that mean athletes will just use… regular old cash???
Lance spent his 2021 working on big tech. At the GameStop hearing earlier this year, Lance was one of the politicians who got this… joined progressives Democrats to criticize tech execs and Wall Street giants. Lance introduced the bipartisan Ending Platform Monopolies Act, which looks to effectively restore fairness to the digital marketplace. Lance came out in support of Trump’s decision to sue the Big Tech companies on Twitter. Lance was also made co-chair of the Freedom from Big Tech Caucus, which was introduced this year. In response to the Facebook accusations that the social media platform is harming kids, Lance and his fellow PP leader Sen. Josh Hawley teamed up to introduce a bill that would give parents the ability to hold social media companies accountable if their platform causes a child mental or bodily injury.
Immigration and border security is indeed an issue that remains unsolved, regardless of what side of the aisle you’re on, and now Lance is introducing a very interesting charge to this equation. In a recent appearance on Fox And Friends, Lance made the assertion that the United Nations is “generously financing the invasion of the US.” He says that currently the UN is working with Mexico to supply biweekly debit cards worth $400 for these migrants traveling to the border. Lance goes on to say that given the US finances 20% of the UN, “taxpayer dollars should not go to any organization that is actively undermining our national security.” Lance is introducing a new bill that would block the UN from funding this. Would you classify this as funding an invasion or a peace organization providing humanitarian aid?
Under current law, U.S. pharmaceutical companies are immune from liability if a recipient of their vaccine experiences medical complications. Lance wants to change that and introduced legislation to hold Big PhRMA accountable if someone experiences negative side effects. Lance said “I believe every American should be able to hold a company accountable if they are harmed by their product, but especially if they are mandated to take that product to keep their job.” But in reality could someone financially fight Big PhRMA?
